Brief Body Notes: The iliocapsularis
/The Iliocapsularis - This little known muscle was described in 2000 (Ward et al. 2000). The true function of the Iliocapsularis remains unknown, but clinicians hypothesized that it may acts as an anterior stabilizer by tightening the capsule and thus reduce impingement.
Origin - The anterior joint capsule and iliopectineal eminence
Insertion - Distal to the lesser trochanter.
