/Massage Therapy: A Research Review
Based on recent clinical practice guideline released by The American College of Physicians massage therapy as a therapeutic intervention is being embraced by the medical community (Chou et al. 2017, Qaseem et al. 2017).
These new practice guidelines follow on the heels of recommendations from The Center for Disease Control, where researchers and policy makers expressed the need to move beyond a pharmacological approaches for pain management and a called for the use of a number of non-pharmacological approaches (Frieden et al. 2016).
Massage Therapy: A List of Systematic Reviews
Massage therapy has been shown to be a safe, effective non-pharmacological therapeutic intervention that is simple to carry out, economical, and has very few side effects. If you are not yet aware of the growing body of evidence to support the work that we do, here is a list of systematic reviews that lend credibility to massage therapy.
